Upon arriving home from chapel on Sunday, Cat would find a set of parcels waiting.

For Nessia, there was a set of meticulously handmade dolls. If one looked closely, they seemed to resemble their family.

For the girls, there were swaths of cloth and ribbon for having dresses made.

For Cat, there was an intricately carved jade-handled dagger.

Once the boisterousness of the season dies down and the weather breaks, I hope to sneak away to see you all for dinner.

It was not signed, but the hand and the seal would be quite familiar to her as belonging to His Majesty.

Nessie was utterly delighted with her new dolls and soon had them thoroughly covered in baby drool.  Fiona and Aileen were busy with the fabric and ribbons while Shona just looked at it for a moment and figured if Cat thought it suitable, it was.  She dreaded a fitting, but that was their lot in life.  Looking pretty.

Cat examined her new blade with delight.  She tested the weight an balance of the blade versus the hilt.  Then she tested the sharpness.  It would be more for decoration than true practical use, but it was still a wonderful, personal gift.  How many ladies in London would be happy to receive such a gift was probably a miniscule number, but the Scot was one of them.

Penning a response, she smiled.

As the weather is such not to encourage travel North, we will be here for the duration.  We look forward to your escape.

Ever Yours,

Cat
