Lord Melville - by hand 1st January- Xmas 1677

Recommended Posts

The book Culpeper's Complete Herbal & English Physician had been wrapped in brown paper and also an oilskin for it's transportation to Chelsea by servants hand. The book was well worn, in far from pristine condition but plainly treasured. On it's first page was an inscription in French from Nicolette's Grandfather. And within the pages were pressed dry cuttings of various plants written about on those pages.

Dear Lord Melville,

Thankyou for your kind advice

yesterday. I hope you will enjoy

the book, and find it as inspiring

as I have.

Warmest wishes

Nicolette
