Dear Lord and Lady Chichester,

I must beg your forgivness for my absense from your wedding, to which you kindly invited me. I was called North urgently on the King's bisness.

Please accept my prayers and fondest wishes for your good helth and great happiness in the years ahead.

May the best you've ever seen be the worst you'll ever see

Yours in Service

Dundarg

The letter was written in a rounded hand with a backwards slope, and accompanied by a cravat pin, two brooches and a set of hair combs, all exquisitely carved from gleaming mother of pearl in curling wave motifs.
